My name is Maria Folch. I was born in Barcelona, Spain. I have lived in Brooklyn, New York for two and a half years. I currently live in Reggio Emilia, Italy. I have a seven year old daughter.

I am painter and art educator with a degree in Fine Arts from the Universidad de Barcelona. I have been working, learning and researching in the artistic, creative, educational, ecological and cooperative fields for over 16 years.

I use resources from various educational methods such as Montessori, Waldorf and Reggio approach, and from Art in general, but also from other disciplines such as psychology, philosophy, history, science, anthropology and ecology.

I like to explore ways to work individual and collective innate creativity in all ages, in communities, families, schools and neighborhoods, respecting the environment and both the cultural reality and identity of each group or person.

I consider life a shared learning path which, if we are open to discover the beauty in everything around us, we can improve our lives and foster at the same time a positive change in the environment around us.
